On April 15, the Men’s Divorce Law Firm Race Team participated in the 16^th Annual Orlando Corporate 5K.  The race beneficiaries included Track Shack, a non-profit promoting health, fitness, and youth athletics, and Parramore Kidz Zone, a local program whose mission is to turn Orlando into a healthy place for children.  The event also included a Canned Food Drive sponsored by the Christian Service Center. 

Stephanie Colosi, legal assistant at the Men’s Divorce Law Firm, stated “It was so great to see such a large portion of the Central Florida community coming together for such a worthy cause.”  Our staff was excited to participate, as both runners and spectators, in this extensive event that lasted well into the night with all of downtown joining in the festivities. 

If you missed out on this year’s fun, then it’s not too early to start getting your office excited about participating next year.

Despite the event starting early, our staff said they enjoyed the run around Avalon Park because it passed by some beautiful lakes and local shops in the area.  Natalie Ramirez, our Client Relations Manager, did exceptionally well at the 5k and placed second in her age division.

Since the event was at a high school, many young members of our community attended the 5K.  Stephanie Colosi, a legal assistant at the Men’s Divorce Law Firm said “I was happy to see students getting involved.  This is what the Men’s Divorce Law Firm Cares initiative is all about: inspiring others to lend a helping hand.”

The money raised from the event went to Special Olympics Florida and the YMCA Scholarship Fund.  Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition in 19 Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience joy.  The YMCA Youth Scholarship Campaign supports kids and families in our community who need a  helping hand.

Coming up on Sunday, October 25th, we will be participating in the Susan G. Komen Central Florida Race for the Cure. It will be held at the Brighthouse Networks Stadium at the University of Central Florida. Online registration will end on Tuesday, October 20.
